A small sphere of rapidly cooled silicate minerals (usually olivine and/or pyroxene) found in stony meteorites. Chondrules range in size from less than 1 mm to more than 10 mm, and are found in abundance in chondritic meteorites. See also: chondrite, achondrite. |
